You don’t know rage until you’re watching a blood red midnight sky, waiting to hear who among you lost their homes, and the fucking idiots in charge are still denying climate change. People died on this island. Lots of people are homeless and jobless. The economy has crashed because the fire scared away the tourists. There are homeless people and empty air bnb mansions. Watch this to the end (or at least to 2:34), guys; important info about the actual plight of koalas. As an Aussie, this hits close to home, & I really appreciate the CH team for apparently randomly deciding to spread info & advocate for this important issue. As one of the few Australian fauna icons that _won't_ try to murder you (though the cute little guys are still wild animals, so, you know, just like I wouldn't try to cuddle one of your raccoons, it's a bad idea to try to pick any random 1 up without the very careful supervision of a zookeeper, because they _will_ start snarling & clawing at your face, as any number of misguided tourists have discovered), they're super worth protecting - & the poor little guys have been teetering on the brink of extinction for my entire lifetime. 😢
